Kadre Gray and Yvonne Ejim have been selected as the Toyota Players of the Week for the week of August 9-15.
Gray scored 32 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists in the Ottawa Blackjacks CEBL Quarter-Final win over Hamilton leading them into the semi-finals at CEBL Championship Weekend in Edmonton, AB. At Laurentian University (U SPORTS), Gray became one of the most decorated Canadian University basketball players of all time earning 10 major university sport awards and averaged 25.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game with the Voyageurs. The Toronto, ON guard represented Canada at the 2019 World University Games in Italy and most recently at the 2022 FIBA AmeriCup Qualifier in Puerto Rico.
Yvonne Ejim averaged 13 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.6 rebounds at the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup. The 6’0” forward is in her Freshman year at Gonzaga University (NCAA) where she saw action in 25 games this season. The Calgary, AB native has played in multiple international tournaments with Team Canada, most recently at the U17 FIBA World Cup, the U19 World Cup in 2020 and the U19 World Cup in Debrecen Hungary this past week.
