Kyle Wiltjer and Shay Colley Named Toyota Canada Players of the Week for November 22-28

Kyle Wiltjer and Shay Colley have been selected as the Toyota Players of the Week for the week of November 22-28.

This week, Wiltjer made a statement during both wins against the Bahamas during the 1st window of the FIBA World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers scoring 23 points in only 19 minutes during game one, and 25 points in 25 minutes in game two. Wiltjer received Toyota Canada Drive of the Game honours for both performances. During his collegiate career, Wiltjer spent two seasons with the Kentucky Wildcats before transferring to play with the Gonzaga Bulldogs from 2014-16. The 6’10” forward signed a two-way contract with the Houston Rockets before taking his talents overseas in 2017. Wiltjer first represented Canada at the 2010 FIBA Americas U18 Championship for Men and most recently appeared in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 in China.

In two games last week with Uni Gyor (Hungary), Colley averaged 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. The 5’8” guard had a successful college career with Michigan State University (NCAA) where she made an appearance at the Sweet 16 and received an All-Big Ten Honourable mention in her Sophomore year. The Brampton, ON native has repped the red and white for over 8 years, playing in over 35 games with the Senior Women’s National Team, most recently competing with Team Canada at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
